
I can’t think of a better way to get into building guitar pedals than an overdrive pedal. It's really simple to make and it sounds awesome!
In this course, I'll walk you through how you can build your own.
What You’ll Need for the Circuit
- Soldering iron
- Solder
- Multimeter
- Breadboard
- 4 cm x 6 cm Perfboard
- Dupont cables or breadboard wires
- 9 V battery
- 9 V battery snap
- LM358 Operational Amplifier
- 1MΩ Potentiometer
- 1MΩ Resistor
- 2 x 10kΩ Resistors
- 2 x 1kΩ Resistor
- 1uF Capacitor
- 100nF Capacitor
- 10nF Capacitor
- 2 x 1/4” Mono Jacks
- 24AWG stranded wire (at least two colors)
Parts for Building the Enclosure
- A drill or drill press
- 3mm metal drill bit
- 3mm to 12mm step bit
- A pair of long-nose pliers
- Hammond 1590B Enclosure
- A Knob for the potentiometer
- 3PDT Footswitch
- Heatshrink tubing
- 5mm LED
- 5mm LED clip
- 400 grit sandpaper
- 9V barrel jack socket
- Three cans of acrylic spray paint:
- Primer
- Base (choose any color you like)
- Clear
- Acrylic paint markers (Posca) or Sharpie
