Cooking with Collin: Piezoelectric Crystals

When we think about electronic components, cooking them isn’t usually what comes to mind. However, there are certainly a lot of ingredients involved in these electronic components right? In fact many of them are chemical in nature. Electrolytic capacitors would be one example.

What about piezos? More specifically piezoelectric crystals. The answer is yes: You can cook your own! Often larger than your average table salt crystals, Rochelle salt crystals are where all the magic happens.

Though this is not probably the type of salt you want to put on your broccoli or french fries, it does produce some amazing results!
